Welcome Aboard - Victoria Bangala ( Marketing Assistant)

Updated: Jun 2, 2021

A little about Victoria!

Hi! I am a 21 year old Saint Mary’s Student from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I was raised in a small country called Botswana where I lived for most of my life before moving to Canada in 2019. I always get carried away when talking about myself so I’ll definitely keep it short! I’m a Marketing Major and I’m going into my third year (almost there).

Why DigiAccel?

I was so anxious about where I was going to spend my summer internship. DigiAccel was literally meant to be. When I read about Priyanka, I just knew I had to work with her. Apart from the fact that the Digital world has always intrigued me and I wanted to work in a place where I would be 100% sure I was pursuing the right course, it was Priyanka’s biography that left me in awe. I loved how she took the extra mile to help women and immigrant students striving for success. Being an international student myself, that made me want to meet her all the more (and I was right!). I was really excited to learn about all these different tools that are used in Marketing which I had never even heard of!

Who is Victoria’s biggest source of motivation?

I definitely have to give it to my mother (sorry dad, still love you!). She always pushed me to my limit. Being a stay-at-home mum, she always used herself as an example of what not to be. I hated when she would speak like that because I always thought she was a superwoman, therefore, everything I will ever do is in honour of her.

Fun Facts!

These are probably the most boring facts ever!

My nickname, Bambi, comes from the famous Disney character. My cousins always said my character always reminded them of the cartoon Bambi and it has stuck ever since! I can be really geeky and I hate raisins. Weird.
